Lucas is an outstanding and outgoing trombonist and low brass performer and teacher. He completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in Spring 2015 and his graduate degree from the University of Denver - Lamont School of Music in 2017. He was privileged to receive private lessons from guest artists at UAFS: Andy Martin and John Fedchock. During his time in Fort Smith, Lucas played in the UAFS Symphonic Band, the UAFS Jazz Band, and the Brass Chamber Ensemble. He also taught privately, freelanced around the area, played at churches, local shops, festivals, and with the Fort Smith Symphony. Lucas moved to Denver, CO in Fall 2015 to pursue his masters at the Lamont School of Music and receive lessons from Scott Bean and Steve Wiest. While in Denver, Lucas performed with the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, the Lamont Wind Ensemble, the Lamont Jazz Orchestra, The Denver Jazz Orchestra, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Lamont Men's Choir, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, The Rocky Mountain Trombone Quartet, the Evan’s Choir, and the Lamont Trombone Choir. He just recently moved to the Tulsa area and is looking to teach in a college or high school setting while gigging around the area.
