Kevin is a professional trumpet player and teacher currently based in the Chicago area. He spent the last eight years in Boston studying with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra while establishing himself as a prominent performer in many orchestras, chamber ensembles, and solo settings around Massachusetts. Kevin holds a Master's Degree from New England Conservatory of Music and is a certified teacher of Alexander Technique. While his performance schedule is very active, he spends every free moment teaching aspiring musicians to perform with ease by building a strong foundation in music fundamentals, theory, history, and movement. In 2016, Kevin was appointed the substitute teacher of Alexander Technique for musicians at The Boston Conservatory and in his private studio, his students have proven very successful in professional settings of varying levels. Younger students have advanced through the ranks to state level competitions, and collegiate students have won coveted positions at Aspen Music Festival. Kevin N.-- I recommend him most highly!
Kevin is an extraordinary young man. He was a student of mine at Boston Conservatory in a class on The Alexander Technique. Kevin took the class 5 times during his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Then he entered my teacher-training program and is now a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. Over the years I came to know Kevin as a solid musician and a person of great integrity. When I need to leave town during the academic year, it is Kevin that I turn to as my sub. His teaching is clear, his interest in his student's success unparalleled. He is thoughtful and he is a very fine trumpet player. The way he has worked on his own playing allows him to transmit his discoveries to his students. I have no reservations about recommending him to you for a teaching job. I honestly feel that he would be an asset to any school.
