6 Years
Hi, my name is Evan! I am a piano, songwriting coach, audio engineer, and producer from Seattle, Washington. I have been a student of music for over 15 years. My musical background includes producing for clients, scoring film, and teaching. I also enjoy golfing and spending time with family. My teaching style can best be described as individualized, as I believe each student has their own path in music and it should be different from everyone else. In my lessons, you can expect to learn anything about music that you need to know to succeed. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students grow. One of the greatest feelings in the world is living some of my best accomplishments in music through a student. My favorite performance was Carnegie Hall. I primarily teach production and piano, but I can also teach songwriting. My approach as a teacher is to show a student the unknown, and then help them navigate through it. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
Evan K. has over 6 years of music experience in the Woodinville area.
Evan K. is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Song Writing Lessons, Record Engineer Produce .What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Students during recording and engineering lessons should record, overdub, edit, and mix both live ensemble and electronically produced sources;-multitrack record, overdub, edit, and mix using complex analog and digital audio systems;-lead a creative project from idea inception to final delivery;-develop business plans;-adapt to diverse and changing technology environments;-apply knowledge of complex analog and digital audio systems; and-evaluate audio program material, and make technical and aesthetic decisions based upon those observations.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
A student can expect to learn 2 things. First the fundamentals of music including, notation, theory, history, and interpretation. Second comes the playing. A student would have a lesson book for theory, exercises and a recital piece of their choice. We would split the lesson into those three parts to cover the main curriculum.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
A student can expect 3 tiers in songwriting. First comes the structure and theory. A student will need to understand the industries common patterns in theory such as chord progressions in pop, but that could be modal modulation in classical music. I can't teach students creativity, so I teach them the technical aspects of songwriting, so they don't have to think about them, and they can be creative. The second tier is instrumentation, voicing, and limits. Each instrument has a range of notes it can play, a proper chordal voice to play them in, and limits to the group of instruments chosen. The final tier is making the song and teaching the student the final steps of publishing, A&R, and music business.
